Simon's Rock is cool, mmk?
On the other hand, Simon's Rock is a liberal arts college, so as I've discovered recently the levels of artsy-fartsy pretentiousness are enough to make anyone choke and pass out. I think the funniest thing that's happened to me all day was when we were reading out loud our homework on an Orwell excerpt about dropping fancy jargon and actually making our writing and speech understandable--and some assturd wrote his in the most horribly pretentious, "I'm using as many SAT vocabulary words as I can cram into one page," completely indecipherable prose imaginable. And he did it in all seriousness.
... speaking of which, I need to do my homework. Fuck. *grumbles* I have the feeling that internet in the dorm rooms isn't necessarily a good thing. Maybe I should bring my laptop up to the study lounge or something.
Nah. *procrastinator mode engages*
And did I mention that the professor I have for my current workshop, German, and intro to Gothic is absolutely the coolest person on the face of the earth? Yeah. It's very difficult not to love her, which is good, because I'm going to be seeing a lot of her this year.
Also: there is nothing better than engaging in a heated, school-sanctioned bout of preaching to the choir about American hypocrisy and the war in Iraq, and then coming back to this song. Hee.
