I feel dumb.
You guys. I learned how to touch-type back when learning to touch-type on a computer instead of a typewriter was New And Different. After fifteen years of merrily clacking away, the neural pathways are pretty well laid down. And yet today all was called into doubt:
You're supposed to hit the Alt keys with your thumbs?!
Why did nobody ever tell me this? My poor abused pinky fingers, augh.
(On reflection, this is probably why I love the US-intl layout. You don't need to fuss with Ctrl and Alt to get accented characters.)
