Choral follies and miscellanea.
Awwww, somebody posted a Marie-Suzette to the Les Mis section of ff.net. I should be dismayed at this final sign that my fandom is going down the tubes, but--I find it kind of cute, actually.
Tonight, in my early-music ensemble, I sang Soprano I for the first time in my life! Although, given that it was on a rather intricate early-Renaissance piece, I can't really claim to have sung melody, just the part that happened to have all the high F's. It was a lot of fun.
General chorus is a pain in the ass though. On the one hand we've got 'Die Meere' by Brahms which is gorgeous, and a kickass arrangement of 'How Can I Keep from Singing,' but on the other hand we've got some stupid shit that tries to be edgy by changing key and time signatures every other measure and just ends up sounding crappy and unmusical. Also, it being general chorus, half the people there could not stay in tune if they had a pitch pipe glued to their ears and can't be arsed to pronounce German correctly. However, we're going to have concert t-shirts that say "Hold me, I'm a fermata," which just makes me happy.
Nose has been running all day, and there is a Nerd Death Plague making the rounds of campus. If I get sick over fall break I will chokeabitch.
