Trainwreck syndrome?

So, it is my fall break. On the train ride from Massachusetts down to DC, my train had a hostile encounter with a shopping cart on the tracks(!), and while the shopping cart lost it did manage to inflict enough damage to stop the train. So we sat there in the middle of nowhere, somewhere between Wilmington and Baltimore, for two hours with no electricity or ventilation before Amtrak got a rescue train to pull up alongside us and take us home. It wasn't fun, and walking across the tracks to the other train at night was rather nerve-wracking. But I did get back eventually, without getting electrocuted or knocked over the head by shopping-cart debris.

Yesterday I went to Ren Faire where, for the first time in the history of my faire attendance, I had enough hair to go to the hair-braiding booth. Yay! So now I have some very pretty double French braids on top of my head, as well as being stuffed with junk food. Also watched a distinctly-non-G-rated Shakespeare Skum take on Romeo and Juliet, and stomped along to a Wolgemut concert. (I didn't know who they were or what they were playing until I heard bagpipes and big drums from halfway across the faire, said, "That sounds like In Extremo or something!" and went to investigate. Turns out Wolgemut sounds a lot like In Extremo minus electric guitars. Crazy German bagpipe rock for the win.) So fun times were had all around.

Today I have mostly lounged around being bored and knocking minor things off my to-do list. I drive back to Northampton tomorrow.
