Okay, so I finally started voice lessons again. Only not quite like before--I was doing classical training before, and now I'm learning how to belt without fucking my shit up. It's... quite a humbling experience, haha. I keep slipping into head voice, and then having a hard time getting back into chest. The classical training is helping me--I have the support, and can take my chest voice up to a C or so before I start mixing or going into flat-out classical mode--but at the same time it's really hard to break the habit of always singing in head voice. Five minutes into the lesson, my teacher said, "Oh wow, you really are an opera girl, aren't you. You sure you want to do this?" And then ten minutes later, "If you go back to classical and start doing these exercises, your teacher is gonna kill me. You're a real piece of work." I take it as a challenge. :D
