tenlittlebullets: (nine while nine)
Fun fact: for a long, long time, I thought that "Missing Time" by MDFMK was about 1984. Then I actually looked up the lyrics and discovered that the line I'd thought was "disinformation is forever" was actually nothing of the sort.

I liked my version better. :p The rest of the lyrics fit that interpretation really well--and I still have the perverse urge to create some sort of "Missing Time (Room 101 remix)," even though it's been years since I abandoned my halfhearted attempts to make electronic music.

(And for all it's an obscure non-album track from a short-lived KMFDM splinter project, it's a really neat song.)

So I spent work today running around overseeing five different badly-managed things and trying not to tear my hair out, and on top of it all managed to slice my finger open with a pair of scissors. And when I was leaving I managed to stuff my computer into my backpack along with a travel mug that was still half-full of tea. Uh-oh. The actual machinery seems to be okay (I'm backing up my important files just in case), but the screen is all messed up on the right side. Oh well. I had been meaning to get the screen fixed anyway--the left hinge kind of dislocated and was starting to do weird things to the case--and now I have a much more urgent excuse. XD

However. My giant order of ThinkGeek stuff arrived a day early, and you do not want to know how much caffeine was contained in that little box. I'll probably be bouncing off the walls until four in the morning. :D

ETA: Oh bollocks, apparently the liquid did make it to the inside after all. The touchpad started going haywire just after I posted. Have switched to the ancient laptop, which is slow as all get-out but at least has most of my settings still saved.
