(no subject)

* Did you know that, including time for rest stops and getting lost, it takes ten hours to drive from New Hampshire to Washington, DC? I discovered this fun little fact last night, after I exited the gas station in Salem at four PM.

* Got a prescription for Adderall. Finally.

* I have noticed something disturbing. It's perfectly natural that all my Enjolras/Grantaire plotbunnies involve them being highly dysfunctional and the fics turn out dark to some degree. But I realized sometime last night that every single one of them is not only dark, it either involves or alludes to nonconsensual or dubiously consensual sex. Not just the ones I've posted, but all the ones running around in my head too. Lingering abuse trauma, R taking advantage of drunk E!, blackmail for sexual favors, sex whether R wants it or not--it was completely unintentional but it just keeps coming back and it's scaring me a bit. XD It's like, not only can I not wrap my mind around them being in a happy relationship, I can't even wrap my mind around them willingly shagging one another. It's not a personal kink or a preoccupation, and it only crops up for this specific pairing. It's bizarre.

* If I promised to send you a cast recording and haven't yet, it's not because I hate you, it's because I've been rather busy the past couple days and last time I tried YouSendIt it broke on me.

* [livejournal.com profile] puddleduck3, I GOT YOUR PACKAGE. *glomps* You're amazing. Thank you so much. *squeeeeeeees*

…And that paragraph sums up exactly why I gave up trying to draw E/R. ^^;;

Well, I think a lot of slash is dark, right? Especially if it's non-canonical, although I suppose Enjy/R is the most canonical you can get...
By the way, which Les Mis recordings do you own?

[identity profile] 10littlebullets.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
One-sided, it's practically canonical. But for anything to come of it you have to throw a monkey wrench into E!'s side of the equation [hello, Mr. Mixed Metaphor!], and that leads to darkfic more often than not. The latest round of plotbunnies probably won't get written for a little while though, because I'm right in the middle of reading "The Colour of Despair" and I'd feel far too guilty for inflicting more of same on poor Enjolras.

I have... *takes a deep breath* OLC, OBC, CSR, TAC, French concept, Paris revival, Duisburg, Dutch, Hungarian, and the Japanese red cast.

Whoa for the last part...I only have the OLC, OBC, CSR, TAC, French concept, and Duisburg. Which recording besides those would you recommend the most?

[identity profile] 10littlebullets.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Paris revival most definitely. I think it's tied with the TAC for my favorite recording--and I just uploaded it for someone else, lucky lucky.

Disc One
Disc Two

OMG. *loves* I owe you big time. :D

I am quite wishy-washy about my favourite recording, really. It used to be the OBC, then the TAC, then the OLC...argh.

[identity profile] 10littlebullets.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oddly, the OBC was one of the few that I always despised. It just seems so... blah. There are a few excellent performances--Maguire and Crivello did so much better on this one than on the TAC--but aside from Colm Wilkinson and Frances Ruffelle, who are on the OLC anyway, most of the cast rubs me the wrong way.

I agree, Maguire and Crivello were lacking something on the TAC. But I do love Terrence Mann on the OBC; he's probably my favourite Javert. I dunno why, really...huh. Very interesting.

Oh, dear. I haven't the slighest clue how to open the file. The computer says that it's an "archive file" or something...?

[identity profile] devils-child7.livejournal.com 2006-02-26 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, never mind. Got it. :)

Hurray! Glad you liked it :)
