Broken links in empty fandoms, where the fic is dead and gone...

Lately there's been a veritable explosion of new Les Miz forums, communities, websites, &c. &c. &c.  And yet, somehow, the fandom is just as dead as it was before, the only difference being that now there are a few more dead forums, communities, and websites littering the wasteland.  Which leads me to the conclusion that the problem cannot be solved by enticing people into being active through the creation of new Places To Be Active; unfortunately for us and our lazy, lurkerish sensibilities, this sucker isn't going to kick itself back into life.  We must Create.  And Discuss.  And Write, and Draw, and generally be Active Fans instead of creating wide-open opportunities for other people to be Active Fans.

...she says, having produced zero fanfiction all summer.  But shhh.  I'm going to make an effort soon, I promise.  I have two new fics kicking around the dusty recesses of my skull, one of which is half-written, and I'm going to run a September challenge at revolution_but_ and possibly commandeer revive santafrenchboys, which ran once and then faded away, and really should be done again because it's a nifty idea.  And I might be doing a LM smut epic for NaNoWriMo.

I might also, er, update my website again.  I've been so awful about doing that.

Alas for our poor dead little fandom. Though, maybe this will inspire a conscious effort to participate more. Or. Er. Something.
