Oh, ebay.

I forgot how stupid some ebay listings can be.  But in about ten minutes of random Miz-related searches, I found a CD labeled "Original London Cast recording (OBC)," a bunch of OBCs with their year listed as 1966, a 2000 miniseries listing claiming that John Malkovitch played Fantine, an 1887 edition of the book by someone named Victor Hugh, and an audiobook with this in its summary: "Jean Val Jean, Lucy, Cosette, all came from here."

What the shit.

I think Javert should arrest the stupid people who messed up their listings D:

Gee, and I remember flipping out at someone advertising the OBC as the original Canadian cast. LOL...

Oh, brilliant. Now, I can at least comprehend the John Malkovitch= Fantine thing (he was Javert, was he not? Perhaps someone mistyped or accidentially deleted Javert), but Lucy?

Um... Victor Hugh is rolling in his grave. God rest his soul. Whoever he is.

But - I want to see John Malkovich as Fantine! He almost has the voice for it *g*.

Lucy could be:
a) Enjolras's girlfriend omglolz
b) Jean Val Jean's long-lost daughter
c) A gypsy who romances Javert

*facepalm* The stupid, it burns us.

[identity profile] i-look-away.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
....Lucy? LUCY?! The possibilities are endless, and each one less appetizing than the last!

[identity profile] lokogato.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
... Lucy?

[identity profile] 10littlebullets.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing Manette.

But really. English lit is in the other classroom plzkthx.

Also, gee, they've only got their time period wrong by forty years.

[identity profile] lokogato.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
... okay, Cosette is sort of similar to Lucie, but that doesn't mean they came out of the same book! ;________;

Psha, forty years, that's minor, obviously. *froths quietly*

Obviously, Lucy was Ferre's equally furious sister who got left out of the completed manuscript.

Also, John Malkovitch as Fantine would've been terribly entertaining.

Haha, I remember seeing the 1966 OBC on eBay.

The one thing that irritates me most in the fandom is the spelling of Jean Valjean as "Jean Val Jean". I dunno, it just really irks me.
