Look ma, I made a forum!

Tumblr seems to be where it's at these days, fandom-wise, but I know I'm not the only one reeling from the lack of discussion and conversational threads inherent to its format. I know lots of really awesome people there whom I'd love to actually talk to. Try to herd everyone back onto LJ/Dreamwidth? That horse has left the barn. And besides, I think I like forums better as fandom spaces better than LJ, heretical as that sounds--everything is topic-organized rather than date-/ownership-organized, so I can go post my thoughts on XYZ in an appropriate thread and not worry that I'm spamming everyone's flists or that, conversely, no one will see my comments because the post they're in has long since been buried.

So! A forum. It's not meant to replace anything, I don't think. More to fill (what I perceive to be) an unmet need in my corner of fandom.

I've had a bit of a conversation with ladybretagne, and she's reviving santafrenchboys this year.  Go forth and join, because it will be spiffy and stuff.

So, if any of you haven't seen it yet, lady_iphigeneia opened a forum at http://abaisse.eta-carinae.net. It should be shiny, if enough people join--all the other LM forums in existence appear to be completely dead, inhabited by idiots, part of bigger Broadway sites, or some combination of the above.  Abaisse's kind of slow at the moment, but if it picks up, it looks like it will have just the right mix of intelligence and fangirling.

Come on, I know I'm not the only one who's been bitching about the lack of intelligent discussion in the fandom.  Forums are good for things like that.  Go forth and join, even if you're not a regular at other LM forums.

So. C. and I went back to the creepy abandoned fairgrounds to poke around and maybe take pictures. Somehow we wound up near the edge of the premises, in this building that contained restrooms and a pay phone and not much else, all dusty and apparently nonfunctional. Apparently. So she did some squeeing about how perfect the light was through the windows and insisted on taking pictures... and right after she snapped the second one, the pay phone rang. Just once, so I doubt it was a wrong number. We got the hell out of there before anything else could happen, but it was fucking creepy.

Further proof that Lulu and I should not be allowed to converse, ever: makinghugospin, the Les Mis fandom's answer to pornish_pixies. All smut. All the time. Yes, we're terrible. Yes, we intend to post there regularly. Be afraaaaaid.
