So, weeping angel costume? More fucking work than my non-crafty self ever planned for. Spent all evening finishing the construction and styling for the wig--which looks pretty fabulous (and will hopefully continue to look fabulous when it's on my fat head instead of the wig stand) but was incredibly labor-intensive for something that's made out of yarn and cut-up stockings.
The good news is that all the required costume pieces--dress, wings, wig, mask, more cut-up stockings to cover my arms/shoulders/neck--are now extant and more-or-less gray. The bad news is none of the grays match, and I need to rig up a harness for the wings and sculpt the mask properly and hem the dress and actually assemble the wings with the harness and sew the ends of the arm-stockings into gloves and then figure out a good faux-stone technique so I can PAINT ALL THE THINGS. And then wear it to ConBust. Which is this weekend. And also not fail any of my classes in the process. But it will be so worth it.
Gonna work like crazy to try to have it ready by Saturday, but if it really honestly can't be finished before Sunday I do have a backup costume waiting. *g* I think I picked the right time to finally stop dragging my feet and get into Doctor Who--just in my immediate circle of friends, for ConBust we've got a Donna, an Amy, a Tenth Doctor, a Master, a pink-dress!Master, a weeping angel, and possibly a River Song. I would've been so left out if I hadn't mainlined seasons 3 and 4.
