So I decided it was silly that I had all the Les Mis Paris revival lyrics translated except three of the most difficult songs, and still hadn't put most of it on the internet. I mean, there were translation threads running on a couple forums, but they're long-since buried, and I haven't been keeping up with putting new translations on LJ.

And so I put them on that website I neglect like the Thénardiers neglect baby Cosette. There's now a shiny new Paris Revival Translations section and everything. Go look! Tell me if there's any buggy HTML or if I've made stupid-ass translation errors.

Yes, slang translates awkwardly. Deal with it. There's a reason I still haven't done Attack on the Rue Plumet.

*takes a deep breath* OMG OMG OMG I GOT INTO THE PROGRAM I'M GOING TO SPEND A YEAR IN PARIS EEEEEEEEEEE.

A YEAR STUDYING IN PARIS.

Okay. Will not hyperventilate with joy. I am calm. So very calm.

(eeeeeeeee)

...also, while procrastinating on my Balzac essay this weekend, I started finishing up my PRC translations and putting them in HTML format to go on that website I haven't updated in ages. IIRC the only ones I have left to do are Beggars at the Feast, Attack on the Rue Plumet, and half of Look Down. Noticing a pattern here? I really hate translating slang.

And in computer science we took a break from formal language theory to learn about regular expressions. Which I never really taught myself because they looked utterly incomprehensible, but they are really nifty and they look much more impenetrable than they are and now I want ThinkGeek's /(bb|[^b]{2})/ t-shirt.

Procrastination is productive, dammit. I still have a French paper to write and three exams to take, but aside from compiling a page of notes for my open-note calculus test, I have... um. tl;dr'd a lot on various message boards and started translating more PRC lyrics.

Right now the only ones left are, predictably, the ones I'm not terribly eager to translate. Waltz of Treachery, Look Down, Attack on the Rue Plumet, Dog Eat Dog, Turning, and the Wedding / Beggars at the Feast. Waltz of Treachery and Turning shouldn't be too hard, but the rest are full of vicious amounts of slang and it makes my head hurt just to think about them.

But all the rest are done. Maybe I'll put them on the website sometime--preferably after finals.

Because we all know the French lyrics are better. ;) Call this a rough draft, and if you've got suggestions or nitpicks on my French, feel free to comment with them.
